The five clinical commissioning groups in north central London (Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington) announced on Friday 20 January 2017 the appointment of Helen Pettersen as chief officer and accountable officer designate for the north central London clinical commissioning groups to lead the Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP).
Helen is a well-respected and highly experienced leader, and has most recently worked as managing director of NEL Commissioning Support Unit. Prior to this she held a variety of senior positions across north central London. She also has significant experience in integrating health and social care services and has held a number of joint posts throughout her career.
The chairs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington CCGs have welcomed her appointment as they work towards delivering locally-driven plans for sustainable future health and care services.
Dr Debbie Frost, Chair of Barnet Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and a local GP, said: “On behalf of the five CCGs, I am delighted to announce Helen’s appointment to this key role. She knows the challenges facing north central London’s health service well, and her wealth of knowledge, experience and skills will stand us in good stead as we continue with our ambitious plans to transform and commission the high quality NHS services that local people deserve.”
Helen Pettersen said: “I am very much looking forward to working closely with staff, partners and local people across the five boroughs in north central London to shape and build outstanding health and health care services for local people and communities that are fit for the future.”
A start date for Helen to begin her role has still to be agreed.
