NHS England has published draft refreshed NHS Continuing Healthcare (NHS CHC) Redress Guidance for CCGs, to be used when considering NHSCHC redress payments for individuals. This document has been updated to reflect the 'Principles for Remedy' from the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) for all public bodies. The guidance retains the principle of returning the individual to the financial position they would have been in had they been assessed as eligible and the need for redress identified.
Once introduced, the CCGs will continue to consider the specific circumstances of individual cases, as they do now, to ensure that all individuals are returned to the financial position they should have been in, if redress is considered appropriate.
