Following a recruitment process, Kathy Elliott has been appointed as a Lay Member on the Camden Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Governing Body.
Kathy will bring with her a wealth of experience, both as a resident of Camden and from her professional experience.
She was elected to represent Caversham Patient Participation Group on the CCG’s patient and public participation group (CPPEG), and recently was elected to chair the group. As part of these roles she has brought a patient and citizen perspective to the CCG’s Commissioning Committee and the Local Commissioned Services Committee, as well as speaking at the CCG Annual General Meeting.
She has a longstanding interest in improving health outcomes, primary care and reducing health inequalities. She is a public health consultant, and has held posts in the NHS and Local Government. Recent roles have included national leadership to achieve earlier diagnosis of cancer, and supporting public health in a London Council. Kathy is an Honorary Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health and has a Master of Sciences in Community Medicine.
In her new role on the Governing Body, Kathy will play an integral role alongside our other Lay Members in providing an independent view of the work of the CCG and further developing the CCG’s work on patient and public involvement. She will have a particular focus on communications and engagement.
