Camden CCG held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday 22 September, with over 100 attendees joining, including general practice staff, members of the public and individuals from Camden providers, patient and voluntary groups.

The presentations from the AGM can also be viewed. Feedback from attendees shows the event was well received, with the majority of attendees rating the talks as ‘good’ or ‘excellent’ and feeding back that they found the event informative.
Dr Caz Sayer, our CCG Chair, opened and introduced Ian Boyle, Chief Finance Officer, who formally presented the financial report from 2015/16. Dr Sayer then took the audience on a journey across the five years since the CCG’s inception, highlighting a range of past and recent achievements such as Team around the Practice and our Care Navigation Service. Caz also considered areas where the CCG has worked hard to improve, including ensuring we have a clear strategic plan with priorities, productive relationships with our members and robust processes to commission effectively.
Three GP members of the CCG’s Governing Body followed. Dr Lance Saker gave a summary of the Local Care Strategy – Camden’s local response to the North Central London Sustainability and Transformation Plan (NCL STP). Lance outlined the local case for change to address our demographic, funding and workforce challenges, the Strategy’s principles and model of care, and the vision for what this this will mean for patients and residents over the next five years.
Next up, Dr Neel Gupta discussed recent primary care developments and our focus on improving quality and reducing variation in care, expanding access to GP appointments, increasing patient satisfaction and tackling workforce challenges. Highlights included the formation of the Camden GP Federation, significant investment in mental health services and a large range of digital innovations currently being rolled out, including online appointment bookings and the Camden Integrated Digital Record.
The talks closed with Dr Matthew Clark speaking about CamdenCCG’s work with providers and partners over the last year, including bringing in a new North Central London NHS 111 Out-of-Hours service, placingGPs in Camden A&E departments to reduce waiting times, and soon to come, a new integrated Musculoskeletal service.
Our AGM closed with a lively question session, with attendees keen to know how their care experiences can be heard, how they can be involved in future planning and decision making and what the NCL STP will mean for Camden residents. Our Governing Body members did an excellent job at providing considered and sympathetic answers to a wide range of questions.
