Camden CCG Appoints Dorothy Blundell as Chief Officer and Two New Governing Body Members

Camden CCG today confirmed the appointment of Dorothy Blundell as Chief Officer for Camden CCG, following a formal recruitment process (subject to our Governing Body and NHS England ratification).

Many Camden health and social care stakeholders will have had the opportunity to work with Dorothy Blundell over the previous nine months, in her capacity as interim Chief Officer. During this time, Dorothy has formed strong relationships with a wide range of local stakeholders, North Central London CCG partners and NHS England.

Dr Caz Sayer, Camden CCG Chair, announced the appointment, saying: “I believe Dorothy's passion for the values of the NHS, and her skills and commitment will be an enormous asset to us and I have every confidence in her ability to lead the CCG to achieve our vision of the best health for all in Camden. Dorothy has the support of the CCG’s membership, staff and Governing Body, and we wish her every success in her new role”.

This week, Camden CCG also announced two new appointments to their Governing Body. Following the recent retirement of Dr Denise Bavin, an election was held for a new GP Member. Camden GPs voted to elect Birgit Curtis, who will serve for the next three years. The CCG is also pleased to announce the appointment of Kathy Elliott to the Governing Body as a Lay Member representative.

Camden CCG is a membership organisation comprising GP surgeries and primary care providers across Camden.  The Governing Body is responsible for overseeing both its commissioning and statutory functions.
